For the moment you have to login to this site using the same login and password as for the main site, separately. Hopefully this will change
If you are not logged on you will not see eliminations but if you are you will see your own eliminations are rider or owner. Also if you are logged on you get access to a couple of reoprts that I have been asked for from time-to-time
The EGB archive is an collection of results for competitive endurance rides that have taken place under the auspices of the principle endurance bodies in England and Wales, for Scotland see the serc_results web site
In England and Wales the main endurance society is Endurance GB. This was formed in 2002 from the merger of the two preceding societies, The Endurance Horse and Pony Society (EHPS) and the British Endurance Riding Association (BERA). BERA itself came into being in 1997 after leaving the British Horse Society (BHS), where it was known as the Endurance Riding Group.
The archive consists of several:
The EHPS was maintained to a high degree of completeness for many years by Mike Carter and userss of this data owe a considerable debt of gratitude to him. While the BERA date system was written by John Hudson and the data for EGB was entered by Olive Linge and latterly by Wendy Dunham
Some foreign rides, principly championship rides are included and result have been added for BHS rides pre-1997 and some SERC results, mainly from when people sent me copies of mastercards while I was adminstering the distance awards.
On the whole anyone who has made a claim for a distance award through EGB will have their complete record on the system. From 1995 onwards all British horses ( EHPS, BHS/BERA, serc_results and ILDRA) were required to have a log book detailing ever competitive ride there have done, either in the UK or abroad.
One of the archivist tasks was to amalgamate these databases. This 70% straightforward and about 10% impossible. Straightforward in the sense that if the horse's name is fairly unique then it is a fair bet the name in the two systems is going to the same horse.
The upshot of all this is that the data has some errors and inconsistencies. If you find any, please let me know by sending an email to me.
Please send me any results that you may have from the missing periods. Any competitive ride by a member of EGB or past member of BERA/BHS long distance group or EHPS is eligible
